Garbsen Seeks Election Volunteers for September 2026 Local Vote
Garbsen will hold its local elections on September 13, 2026. Residents will vote for the city council and the next mayor. To ensure smooth operations, officials are now recruiting volunteers to work at polling stations.
The city is looking for election workers to help manage voting locations and count preliminary results. Volunteers can apply online, by phone at (05131) 707-524, or via email at elections@ourwebsite. Shifts are flexible, so workers won't need to commit to a full day.
Eligible applicants must be German citizens, at least 16 years old, and registered residents of Garbsen. They must also hold full voting rights. Those selected will receive a stipend: €100 for presiding officers, €80 for secretaries, and €60 for assistants. If a runoff election takes place on September 27, all payments will be reduced by €20. The city has not yet announced how many polling stations or electoral districts will operate during the vote.
Volunteers will play a key role in running the election. Their tasks include assisting voters, maintaining order, and helping with the initial count. Stipends will vary depending on the role and whether a second round is needed.
