Gas station burglary attempt leaves door shattered in early-morning raid
A gas station on Kasinostraße became the scene of an attempted burglary in the early hours of Sunday. Police arrived after reports of a suspected break-in and found the entrance door heavily damaged. The extent of the incident and the number of suspects remain under investigation. Officers were alerted to the gas station shortly after midnight. Upon arrival, they discovered shattered glass around the front door, raising immediate suspicions of forced entry. At least eight patrol cars quickly surrounded the area, cordoning off the site for further examination.
Police spent hours searching nearby buildings and collecting evidence from inside the station. Investigators are now reviewing surveillance footage to identify those responsible. The South Hesse Police Headquarters later confirmed the incident as an attempted burglary.
It is still unclear whether anything was stolen or how many individuals were involved. Authorities have not released additional details about similar incidents in the area, as local crime statistics provide only broad regional data. The investigation into the break-in continues as police analyse evidence and footage. The gas station's damaged entrance remains a key focus of the inquiry. Further updates will depend on the findings from the ongoing review.
