The war in Gaza has claimed over 66,000 Palestinian lives, including many women and children, since it began with a terrorist attack by Hamas and other organisations in Israel. Around 1,200 people have died, with more than 250 still held hostage. US President Joe Biden has proposed a plan to end the conflict, which Hamas has partially accepted, but negotiations continue.

The Gaza war started with a Hamas-led attack in Israel, resulting in significant loss of life and hostages. According to Hamas-controlled health figures, over 66,000 Palestinians have died in the Gaza Strip since the war began.

US President Joe Biden has presented a plan to resolve the conflict. Hamas has agreed to some aspects, including the release of hostages, but further talks are needed. Brandenburg's Minister-President Dietmar Woidke has praised Biden's initiative, seeing it as an opportunity for peace. He has also promised maximum protection for Jews in Brandenburg, expressing concern about rising anti-Semitism during the war.

The Gaza war, with its devastating toll on Palestinian lives, remains a pressing issue. While Biden's plan offers hope, negotiations continue. Brandenburg's government, under Dietmar Woidke, supports the peace process and ensures the safety of its Jewish population. The anniversary of the Hamas attack in Israel serves as a reminder of the conflict's human cost and the need for a lasting resolution.
