Geisa Associations Push for Inclusion with Barrier-Free Clubhouse Plan

The annual association meeting in Geisa recently focused on inclusion, with Bettina Kranz presenting the 'Wir für Euch Rhön e.V.' association and Tino Wingenfeld and Felicitas Dörnen from the Fahr- und Reitverein Geisa proposing a barrier-free sports clubhouse renovation.

Kranz highlighted that societal attitudes often pose the biggest hurdles to inclusion, encouraging associations to be open and remove practical barriers. She presented her association, which supports families affected by disabilities.

The Geisa region's municipalities, working with Antonius - Netzwerk Mensch and local actors, have developed an inclusion concept. André Literski from Antonius presented practical approaches for associations to contribute to inclusion. The goal is to engage in dialogue with citizens and associations to work out concrete implementation options.

Wingenfeld and Dörnen proposed renovating the old sports clubhouse in Geisa barrier-free for various association events and therapeutic riding. Around 20 percent of the population in the Wartburg district live with a disability, underscoring the importance of these inclusion efforts.
