Georgia GOP’s youngest leader resigns months after historic election
Ja'Quon Stembridge, a 19-year-old college freshman, has stepped down as Assistant Secretary of the Georgia Republican Party. His resignation comes just months after he was elected to the role, making him one of the youngest leaders in the state’s GOP history.
Stembridge first gained attention in July when he unexpectedly rose to a leadership position within the Georgia GOP. His election was seen as a symbolic move, reflecting the party’s push to attract younger voters.
The resignation leaves the Georgia GOP without one of its youngest leaders. A new assistant secretary has been chosen behind closed doors, though the identity has not yet been made public. The party will now focus on formalising the appointment and moving forward.
