Georgian PM Visits Shanghai to Strengthen Ties, Boost Exports
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has embarked on a significant visit to Shanghai, China, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The trip, scheduled for late 2023, is set to strengthen political and economic ties between the two nations.
Kobakhidze's visit will culminate in a bilateral meeting with Li Qiang, aiming to deepen cooperation in various sectors. The Georgian delegation, comprising six ministers and the President of the National Bank of Georgia, will accompany the Prime Minister.
Georgia's role as this year's Guest of Honour at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be marked by Kobakhidze's attendance at the opening ceremony. More than 40 Georgian companies will showcase their products and services, promoting exports and investment opportunities in China.
The visit underscores Georgia's expanding economic and diplomatic ties with China, following the establishment of a strategic partnership agreement earlier this year. The bilateral meeting and CIIE participation are expected to foster further cooperation and boost Georgian exports.
