Georgia’s Senate Race Heads to December Runoff After Tight Vote
A runoff election has been set for December 16, 2025, to determine the live election results and us election results for Georgia’s next state senator for District 35. The seat was left vacant after Jason Esteves stepped down to focus on his campaign for governor. The district spans parts of Fulton and Cobb counties, drawing candidates from both areas.
The initial vote saw five candidates compete for the position. Jaha Howard, a former Cobb County Board of Education member, led with 32.63% of the vote. Roger Bruce, a former Georgia state representative, came second with 25.37%.
The December 16 runoff will decide who completes Esteves’ term in the 35th District. The winner will represent parts of Fulton and Cobb counties in the Georgia Senate. The election results so far indicate a close race, and the final outcome will determine party control of the seat until the next general election.
