German Automobile Dealers Form New Association, VAD, to Champion Industry Interests
Burkhard Weller, the founder and owner of Berlin Autohausgruppe Weller, has been elected as the first president of the newly formed Association of German Car Dealers (VAD). The organisation was established at a founding meeting in Münster, with a mission to represent and amplify the political voice of car dealers.
VAD, with the motto 'Your mobility is our driving force', seeks to champion the interests of car dealers on equal footing with the industry. It aims to engage directly with policymakers in Berlin and Brussels, advocating for transport policies that embrace technological neutrality and do not demonize cars.
The association positions itself as a platform for car dealerships, particularly larger multi-brand operators and nationwide used-car businesses. Its mission is to be recognized as professional guarantors of individual mobility and to be taken seriously in political debates. VAD will tackle key future challenges such as franchise partnerships, sales contracts, new business models, and electromobility.
VAD demands more fairness and investment security for car businesses, calling for clear regulatory frameworks. It seeks to highlight the social and economic impact of car dealerships, focusing on opportunities, people, employees, and customers. Membership fees are tiered by revenue, starting at €1,000 annually.
The newly founded German Car Dealers Association (VAD) under the leadership of Burkhard Weller is set to influence policy and promote the interests of car dealers. With a focus on fairness, clear regulations, and technological neutrality, VAD aims to be a significant voice in the automotive industry.
