Kohl Grandson Tears Apart AfD Due to Epstein Connections - German CDU MP accuses AfD of ties to Jeffrey Epstein's shadowy network

A fierce debate has erupted in the Bundestag after CDU politician Johannes Volkmann accused the AfD of ties to Jeffrey Epstein's network. The row centres on claims that Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Donald Trump, worked closely with the party to shape European policy. Volkmann demanded the AfD cut all connections to figures linked to Epstein's controversial circle.

Volkmann's attack began with references to US Department of Justice documents. These showed an invitation from Epstein to Bannon, urging him to visit his private island, Epstein Island. The CDU MP argued that such links raised serious questions about the AfD's political judgement.

He then highlighted a 2019 exchange between Bannon and Epstein. In it, Bannon claimed he could influence European policy through the AfD. The party, Volkmann noted, was the only German group in the European Parliament to oppose cryptocurrency regulations at the time.

Bannon's response to Epstein included plans to travel to Berlin from May 11 to 15, 2019. The visit was for a Bundestag speech, arranged by an AfD invitation. Volkmann used this to press the party for answers, insisting they publicly reject any association with Epstein's network and its political reach.

The AfD has yet to respond directly to Volkmann's demands. His speech leaves unresolved whether the party will address its alleged ties to Bannon or Epstein's influence. The exchange now puts pressure on the AfD to clarify its past engagements with both figures.
