German Delegation from Willich Arrives in Marugame for Cultural Exchange

A delegation from Willich, Germany, led by Mayor Christian Pakusch, has arrived in Marugame, Japan, after a 27-hour journey. They were greeted by Mayor Kyoji Matsunaga and treated to local customs and cuisine.

The delegation's journey began in Osaka, where they were welcomed by Kawata and Tanimoto from the citizen association and indulged in takoyaki. After a four-hour drive, they reached Marugame at 5:00 p.m. local time.

The welcome ceremony was a vibrant affair, featuring a dragon dance performance by local students and a meet-and-greet with host families for a three-day homestay. Mayor Matsunaga received the delegation, and they were greeted with official speeches and a presentation on Germany by Yasuo Inadome.

The delegation's schedule in Marugame includes a reception with the mayor and a visit to a local middle school. Their visit aims to strengthen ties between the two cities and foster cultural exchange.
