The German-Israeli volunteer service marks a decade of cultural exchange and mutual understanding in 2023. Both nations aim to strengthen and expand this successful program, with over 100 Israeli volunteers participating in Germany and nearly 2,000 Germans completing their service in Israel.
The Federal Ministry of Education in Germany has praised the program as a vital tool for fostering cooperation and dialogue between the two countries. Karin Prien, the German Federal Minister for Education, Family, Senioren, Women and Youth, has emphasized its importance. She signed a joint declaration with Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar to strengthen educational and volunteer exchanges.
The program has seen significant participation from both sides. Since its launch, nearly 1,900 young Germans have completed their volunteer service in Israel. Meanwhile, over 100 Israeli volunteers have taken part in the program in Germany.
As the German-Israeli volunteer service celebrates its tenth anniversary, both countries look to build on its success. They aim to strengthen and expand the program, further promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding between their young people.
