German mayor’s wedding ends with a fire truck lift surprise

Kaufbeuren’s mayor, Stefan Bosse, married Katja Brauner in a civil ceremony on Friday afternoon. The event took place in front of the Old Town Hall, followed by an unusual celebration involving the local fire department.

The couple, aged 60 and 48, exchanged vows in a short but formal ceremony. After the official proceedings, the Kaufbeuren fire department prepared a surprise: an aerial ladder truck lifted the newlyweds in a rescue basket.

The wedding ended with the couple descending safely back to ground level. Their aerial celebration marked a distinctive start to their marriage. The event remained a private affair, without public statements from other officials.
