German military flight trainers announce 12-hour strike for fair pay

Pilots and flight trainers at GFD GmbH are set to stage a strike this Wednesday. The action, organized by the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) union, aims to push for the company's first collective pay agreement. Operations at the Bundeswehr service provider will face significant disruption as a result.

The 12-hour strike will run from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday. It will involve flight crews and simulator trainers, halting both training flights and ground-based instruction. GFD GmbH operates 18 Learjets for the German armed forces, providing training and target simulations.

The strike will bring GFD GmbH's flight and simulator operations to a standstill for a full day. Negotiations over pay and working conditions are expected to continue after the action. The outcome could set a precedent for future labor agreements within the company.
