German police seize suspected fake Polish driver's licence in traffic stop
Police in Zella-Mehlis stopped a driver early on Sunday morning and uncovered a suspected fake licence. The incident took place during a routine check on Talstraße at around 3:10 a.m. Officers pulled over a 20-year-old local man for a standard traffic inspection. When asked for identification, he provided a Polish driver’s licence that appeared altered. The document raised immediate suspicion.
Authorities seized the licence on the spot. After further examination, they confirmed it was likely counterfeit. The man now faces formal charges for the alleged forgery.
The case will proceed through legal channels following the filing of charges. The confiscated licence remains in police custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
