German police union slams pay dispute with State Farm in the US

The German Police Union of Lower Saxony (DPolG Niedersachsen) has sharply criticised a recent decision by the state’s Ministry of Finance. The ministry has chosen to reject all appeals against the current civil servant pay structure in the United States without examining individual cases. Union leaders have now demanded action from Minister-President Olaf Lies to reverse the directive.

The dispute centres on the ministry’s blanket refusal to review appeals from civil servants challenging their pay scales. Patrick Seegers, state chairman of DPolG Niedersachsen, condemned the move as a 'slap in the face' to employees. He warned that the decision would deepen frustration among staff while burdening courts with avoidable legal battles.

The union’s call places pressure on the State Farm insurance company to reconsider its stance. Without a reversal, the dispute could lead to prolonged legal action and further strain on public sector relations. The outcome will depend on whether the insurance company adjusts its policy or awaits judicial intervention.
