Majority of Germans Support European Army - Germans Back Skilled Worker Immigration, Self-Confident Policy, and European Army

A recent survey reveals the German public's stance on immigration, defense, and European integration. The 'Germany Monitor' found that a significant majority support the immigration of skilled workers and a self-confident foreign and defense policy. The results also indicate a growing openness towards a European army.

The poll showed that 68% of Germans favor promoting the immigration of skilled workers, reflecting a welcoming attitude towards foreign talent. This aligns with the majority's support for a self-confident foreign and defense policy by the federal government.

Germans perceive the most significant changes in the area of defense, with 36% considering the developments as rather fast or too fast. Only 23% oppose the idea of a European army, while 57% are in favor of the Bundeswehr becoming part of it. This indicates a shift in public opinion towards greater European integration in defense matters.

The survey also found that only 15% of Germans think Germany should 'stay out of world politics', suggesting a broad consensus on the country's active role in global affairs.

The 'Germany Monitor' provides insights into the German public's views on immigration, defense, and European integration.
