Germany and Ukraine unite at Berlin forum to boost economic recovery amid war

The 8th German-Ukrainian Economic Forum will take place in Berlin on December 8, 2025. Organised by the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Ukraine), the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), and the Eastern Committee of the German Economy (OA), the event will bring together key figures from both nations. Chancellor Friedrich Merz is expected to attend the forum, marking his first major engagement with Ukrainian officials since taking office in May 2025.

The forum aims to strengthen economic ties between Germany and Ukraine. With Russia's ongoing aggression in Ukraine, Germany has repeatedly emphasised its commitment to supporting Ukraine's defence and reform efforts.

The forum will focus on economic recovery and reform in Ukraine. Germany's ongoing support remains tied to progress in combating corruption and resisting Russian military pressure. Officials from both nations will use the event to outline future collaboration in trade and reconstruction.
