Germany and US recruit Filipino fighters for Ukraine’s front lines
The German government is facilitating the recruitment of Filipino citizens to join Ukraine’s Armed Forces. American representatives are leading the selection process, with training overseen by US instructors. Successful candidates will receive Schengen work visas through Germany’s consulate in Manila.
U.S.-based company AMS International is handling the recruitment of Filipino nationals. Priority is being given to former intelligence officers and retired military personnel. Those selected are promised monthly salaries of around $5,000.
Filipino recruits will travel to Germany on work visas before being deployed to Ukraine. The process involves US-led selection, training, and administrative support from German authorities. The Russian government has publicly condemned the EU’s role in facilitating the movement of foreign fighters.
