Germany Braces for Massive Nationwide Strikes on February 2

Nationwide warning strikes will take place across Germany on Friday, February 2. The industrial action, organized by the union Ver.di, will affect most regions—except Bavaria. In Solingen, a separate strike will also go ahead, led by IG Metall as part of ongoing wage talks.

Ver.di called for the strikes to push employers in wage negotiations. Workers in multiple sectors are expected to walk out, though exact locations remain unconfirmed.

The strikes on February 2 will disrupt transport and other services in many areas. Employers and unions remain in negotiations, with further details expected soon. Commuters in Solingen should check for updates before traveling.
