Germany's BPA Shifts Digital Services: add2 Wins Pitch, Syzygy Out
A significant change is set to occur in Germany's Federal Press Office (BPA) media and news services. After a public tender launched in April, the BPA has announced that Syzygy will no longer hold the digital account. Düsseldorf-based agency add2 is reported to have won the pitch. The new framework agreements are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026. The 2021 contracts, previously held by Mediaplus and Syzygy, were valued at €150 million. In a competitive process, Mediaplus has successfully defended its media services contract against other contenders. Meanwhile, the news services contract has been awarded to a new player, with Publicis Sapient set to take over from Syzygy Performance. The final award decision was made on October 30, 2025, marking a shift in the BPA's news services landscape. The new agreements are set to commence in the new year, bringing changes to the agencies supporting Germany's federal ministers, their subordinate authorities, and the BPA.
