Germany's Davis Cup team kicks off 2026 campaign with eco-friendly shuttles in Düsseldorf
The German Davis Cup team, led by Anthony Davis, is set to face Peru in Düsseldorf on February 3 and 6 at the Castello. This year's home tie marks the start of their 2026 campaign, with the team aiming for a spot in the finals. A new partnership with Autohaus Ulmen and BYD will provide the event's official shuttle service, using electric and hybrid vehicles for players and VIPs.
Düsseldorf's Castello has hosted Davis Cup matches before, including Germany's 4:0 victory over Peru in 2026. Now, the venue will welcome the team again as they begin their journey under captain Michael Kohlmann.
Autohaus Ulmen, a long-standing automotive group in the Rhineland, has teamed up with BYD to supply the shuttle fleet. The company, which employs around 200 people across three locations, sells about 5,000 vehicles a year. Its portfolio includes brands like Opel, Peugeot, Citroën, and, since 2025, BYD.
The partnership will see electric and hybrid models—sedans, SUVs, and station wagons—transporting players, officials, and guests. Klaus Gutberlet, managing director of Autohaus Ulmen, described the collaboration as a natural fit for the family-run business. The German Tennis Federation (DTB) has also welcomed the new arrangement, highlighting its support for the event's logistics.
The shuttle service will run throughout the tie, ensuring smooth transport for all involved. With Germany's Davis Cup team preparing for the season ahead, the partnership with Autohaus Ulmen and BYD adds a modern touch to the event. The Castello in Düsseldorf remains a key venue as the team works toward the finals in Bologna.
