Germany’s digital health network crashes for nearly two hours

A technical outage disrupted access to Germany’s Telematikinfrastruktur (TI) on Wednesday. The issue began at around 11:15 AM and lasted until approximately 1:00 PM. Users relying on key digital health services faced connection problems during this time.

The disruption was first reported by gematik, the official authority overseeing the TI system, shortly after noon. Services affected included the e-prescription system, electronic patient records (ePA), and electronic sick leave certificates (eAU). Other impacted functions were insured patient master data management (VSDM) and electronic doctor’s letters.

The outage lasted nearly two hours, ending around 1:00 PM. Worldline continues to analyse the fault to restore full reliability. Users of the TI system may have experienced delays in accessing essential digital health services during the disruption.
