Economists Present Annual Report - Germany’s Economic Experts to Reveal Critical Report on Government Spending Today

Germany's Council of Economic Experts will unveil its annual report today, with a focus on the federal government's spending. The report will first reach Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) at midday, before being made public at 2:30 PM.

The report is prepared by the five-member Sachverständigenrat, led by chairperson Monika Schnitzer. Other members include Veronika Grimm, Ulrike Malmendier, Achim Truger, and Martin Werding. They will submit their findings to the Chancellor at 12:00 PM, providing an in-depth analysis of the government's financial decisions.

The public presentation at 2:30 PM will offer insights into how the council evaluates the government's use of funds, helping taxpayers understand the economic impact of these decisions.
