Germany’s New Military Command Center Strengthens Strategic Operations

Defense Minister Boris Pistorius visited the Operational Command Center in Schwielowsee today, focusing on the command's role in strategic and tactical operations. The center, officially activated in October 2024, is led by Generalleutnant Alexander Sollfrank, with Generalleutnant André Bodemann as deputy commander.

The visit centered around the importance of comprehensive situational assessment. This process involves continuous collection, analysis, and presentation of relevant information, enabling informed decision-making and coordination. Pistorius discussed the structure and mission of the center with its commander, Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank. The Operational Command Center, known as OpFüKdoBw, was activated on October 1, 2024, marking a significant step in the German military's organizational evolution.

Pistorius's visit underscored the significance of the Operational Command Center in strategic and tactical operations. The center's comprehensive situational assessment capabilities are crucial for effective decision-making and coordination within the German military.
