Germany's Power Shift Podcast Relaunches with New Hosts and Bold Ambitions
One of Germany's top political podcasts, Power Shift, has relaunched with a new format and expanded team. The show, now hosted by veteran journalists Dagmar Rosenfeld and Robin Alexander, will air twice weekly and introduce fresh features for listeners. A special episode with an exclusive interview featuring Chancellor Friedrich Merz marks the start of this new chapter.
Power Shift first launched in 2021 under original hosts Anna Mönninghoff and Maximilian Plückter. Starting with just a few thousand downloads per episode, it grew steadily, reaching over 100,000 downloads by 2025. As of March 2026, it ranks as Germany's most popular political podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Rosenfeld and Alexander took over production at the beginning of this year. Both bring extensive media experience: Rosenfeld previously served as editor-in-chief at *The Pioneer*, while Alexander was deputy editor-in-chief at *Welt*. Under their leadership, the podcast will now release new episodes every Wednesday and Friday. The relaunch also introduces a partnership with Studio Bummens for production support. Advertising and monetisation will be managed by Seven. One Audio, with select ads read by the hosts themselves. An ad-free version remains available on CampfireFM for €7.99 per month. Listeners can now interact more directly with the show. CampfireFM's dedicated *Power Shift* forum allows them to engage with the hosts, access exclusive content, and even suggest Schlager pop hits for future episodes.
The podcast's expanded schedule and new features aim to build on its growing audience. With a mix of high-profile interviews, listener interaction, and professional production, Power Shift continues to strengthen its position in Germany's political media landscape. The ad-free subscription and forum further enhance options for dedicated followers.
