Hanover's Ballet Director Accompanies Steinmeier to Spain - Germany’s President Strengthens Cultural Ties on Historic Spain Visit

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will embark on a state visit to Spain, accompanied by Goyo Montero, the artistic director of ballet at Hannover State Opera. The visit underscores the robust cultural ties between the two nations.

Montero, who hails from Madrid, will return to his hometown and also visit the Basque Country during the trip. His inclusion in the delegation underscores the importance of cultural exchange in the bilateral relationship. Prior to his role in Hannover, details about Montero's previous position remain unclear.

The visit will culminate in a state banquet hosted by King Felipe VI. Notably, President Steinmeier will become the first German head of state to visit Guernica, paying tribute to the shared history and acknowledging Germany's role in the Spanish Civil War.

The presidential visit, accompanied by Goyo Montero, signifies the depth and diversity of German-Spanish relations. It highlights the significance of cultural exchange and artistic collaboration between the two countries.
