Germany’s Top Cybersecurity Prize Opens 2026 Applications Now

The German IT Security Award is now accepting applications for its 2026 edition. Organised by the Horst Görz Foundation, this marks the eleventh time the prize will recognise groundbreaking cybersecurity solutions. The competition aims to boost Germany’s digital independence by rewarding innovation in the field.

Entries are open to individuals, companies, and research groups based in Germany. Each submission must include a short explanation of the cybersecurity solution being proposed. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2026, with full guidelines available at www.german-it-security-award.de.

The award ceremony will form part of a wider event dedicated to cybersecurity advancements. Successful applicants will gain recognition alongside financial support. The competition continues to play a role in shaping Germany’s approach to digital security challenges.
