Germany's Wadephul Sets EU Values, Regional Issues as Turkey's Path to SAFE Program

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has outlined steps Turkey must take to participate in the European Union's Security Action for Europe (SAFE) financing program for defense industries. His statement aligns with Greece's stance, despite previous German pressure on Greece to accept Turkey.

Wadephul emphasized that Turkey needs to demonstrate commitment to key EU values, including democratic principles, human rights, and cooperation on security issues. He noted that Turkey's approach to Europa in these areas should be seen with clear steps in the near future.

Regarding regional problems, Wadephul stated that Turkey must address these issues to join the SAFE program. He also highlighted the importance of Turkey accepting EU values such as the rule of law, human rights, democracy, and freedom of the press.
