Gewobau’s CEO Torsten Regenstein secures early contract extension amid housing challenges
Gewobau’s CEO, Torsten Regenstein, will continue leading the company after an early contract extension. The decision was announced on December 11, 2025, in Rüsselsheim’s town hall. His extended tenure comes as the housing sector faces growing challenges across the region.
Regenstein took charge of Gewobau in 2006 and has since reshaped its direction. Over the years, he has steered the organisation toward a more customer-centred approach. His leadership qualities have also prioritised modernisation, with roughly 65% of the company’s apartments now meeting higher energy-efficiency standards.
The contract renewal secures Regenstein’s leadership position for the coming years. Gewobau will continue its focus on affordable, energy-efficient housing under his leadership. With plans to grow its portfolio, the company aims to play a larger role in Rüsselsheim’s housing future.
