Ghana honours Obaapanin Ama Akyeamaa in a grand traditional funeral

A grand funeral was held in Sefwi Subri Nkwanta to honour Obaapanin Ama Akyeamaa, the late mother of former MP Alfred Obeng Boateng. The event drew high-profile figures from politics, business, and traditional leadership. Mourners gathered to pay their last respects amid drumming, dancing, and solemn tributes.

Obaapanin Ama Akyeamaa passed away on March 9, 2025, at the age of 91. Her funeral became a major gathering, with thousands of well-wishers filing past her body to offer their final farewells. A tomb and statues were erected in her honour, alongside a memorial for her late sister.
