Ghana’s Adwinsa Festival ignites young minds with books and creativity
The 2025 Adwinsa Children’s Book and Arts Festival took place in Accra this week. Organised by the Ghana Library Authority (GhLA), Adwinsa Publications Ghana, and the Ministry of Education, the event aimed to boost literacy, creativity, and child development across the country.
The festival brought together children, educators, and public figures for a series of engaging activities. Book dramatisations, poetry readings, and art workshops kept young attendees immersed in literature. Reading clinics also provided hands-on learning opportunities.
The festival has set a foundation for future events focused on youth development. With extended library hours, legal reforms, and multilingual reading programmes, GhLA is working to ensure broader access to education. These efforts aim to create lasting opportunities for children’s learning and cultural engagement.
