Gießen Honors Long-Term Volunteers with New Honorary Card Program
The University City of Gießen is set to honour its dedicated volunteers with the Honorary Card. Applications are now open for residents who have actively contributed to the community for at least three years, or since their organisation's founding, with an average of five hours per week.
Eligible citizens can apply between 01.08.2025 and 31.10.2025. The application form can be downloaded or requested by calling 0641 306-1012. It's important to note that the honorary activity does not come with any expense reimbursement. The Honorary Card is awarded to recognise and thank volunteers who have orientated their engagement towards the common good. Those who currently hold the card and wish to renew it should submit a follow-up application if the conditions for the award still apply.
The University City of Gießen values the time and effort its volunteers put into bettering the community. The Honorary Card is a small token of appreciation for those who have maintained their primary residence in the city while actively contributing for at least three years or since their organisation's founding.
