A major police operation unfolded on Wilscher Weg in Gifhorn on Tuesday afternoon. Officers responded after a man barricaded himself inside an apartment and threatened self-harm with a knife. Authorities confirmed no injuries occurred during the incident. The situation began when the man locked himself alone in his flat, raising concerns for his safety. Emergency teams quickly secured the surrounding area to prevent any risk to the public. Negotiators then made contact with him in an attempt to resolve the standoff peacefully.

After hours of discussions, officers successfully persuaded the man to leave the apartment. He was immediately taken by ambulance to Gifhorn Hospital for further assessment. Police confirmed he had posed no threat to others throughout the ordeal.

The operation concluded without violence or harm to anyone involved. The man remains under medical care, while authorities continue to review the circumstances. Residents in the area were allowed to return to their homes once the scene was cleared.
