Gifhorn’s *Living Democracy!* Survey Gathers 1,500 Voices on Coexistence
A citizen survey for the Living Democracy! project in Gifhorn district has wrapped up after receiving strong public participation. Over 1,500 residents shared their views on coexistence, tolerance, and democratic values before the deadline on 30 November. Local officials have praised the high level of engagement as a key step forward for the initiative.
The survey formed part of a wider situation and resource analysis, designed to meet empirical social research standards. Responses will now be examined alongside structural data and expert interviews to shape the project’s next phase. The Ibis Institute, specialising in interdisciplinary consulting and intercultural studies, is overseeing the scientific evaluation.
The survey’s outcomes will serve as a foundation for future actions under Living Democracy! in Gifhorn. With over 1,500 contributions, the project now moves into its next stage of development. Officials and researchers will use the data to address local challenges and strengthen democratic engagement.
