GJA Honors Top Journalists at 29th Awards in Ashanti Region

The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) held its 29th annual awards ceremony at the Manhyia Palace in the Ashanti Region. The event was graced by the presence of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, and President John Dramani Mahama as the Special Guest of Honour. The theme focused on the media's role in promoting peace, security, and combating illegal mining (galamsey). Godwin Asediba from TV3 was named the 2024 Journalist of the Year. The ceremony also saw the attendance of several government officials and dignitaries. The event highlighted the importance of the media in shaping Ghana's future and combating pressing issues such as galamsey. The 29th GJA Awards ceremony at the Manhyia Palace was a significant event, honouring excellence in journalism and emphasising the media's role in safeguarding Ghana's future.
