Global Embassies Unite in Song for ‘Vande Mataram’s’ 150th Anniversary
Embassies worldwide are celebrating the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram', India's national song. Mass renditions have taken place in Argentina, Peru, Canada, Chile, and Colombia, led by Indian diplomats and local Indian communities. The Embassy of India in Argentina kicked off the celebrations with a grand event led by Ambassador Ajaneesh Kumar. He spoke about the song's historical significance and unity it brings to Indians. In Lima, Peru, Ambassador Vishvas Sapkal led a mass singing event with embassy officials and local Indians. Similar events took place in Toronto, Canada, and Santiago, Chile, with enthusiastic participation from Indian students. The Indian Embassies in Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom also organized events to mark the occasion. The Indian Embassy in Bogota, Colombia, brought together officials, families, and community members for a collective rendition. The year 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram', composed during Akshaya Navami on November 7, 1875. Indian diplomatic missions worldwide have celebrated this milestone, highlighting the song's enduring importance and inspiration for generations of Indians.
