Gloria Berlin: Modern Workspaces in the Heart of City West

Gloria Berlin, once a grand cinema known as the Gloria Palast, has transformed into a modern workspace in the heart of City West. The historic building now blends its old-world charm with contemporary work culture, offering private offices, team spaces, and meeting rooms. Its past as a cultural hub for figures like Hildegard Knef and Ellen Stewart adds to its unique character.

The Gloria Palast was once Berlin’s premier cinema, hosting film premieres and attracting stars like actress and singer Hildegard Knef. The ground floor also housed Mampe’s Gute Stube, a popular gathering spot for the city’s elite. Ellen Stewart, founder of New York’s La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, was another frequent visitor, shaping the area’s artistic scene.

Today, the building operates as Gloria Berlin, managed by Satellite Office—a company that pioneered Berlin’s coworking movement in 1997. The space now includes elegant private offices starting at €825 per workspace, team offices from €600, and day offices priced at €35 per hour or €210 per day. Members can also access a fireplace lounge and move freely between all Satellite Office locations in the city. Nearby, Haus Cumberland offers around 50 offices and a grand rooftop terrace, further expanding the area’s appeal as a business hub. Both locations maintain their historic architecture while adapting to modern professional needs.

Gloria Berlin’s shift from cinema to workspace reflects the changing demands of the city. The building’s blend of history and functionality attracts professionals seeking a prestigious yet flexible work environment. With its central location and cultural legacy, it remains a landmark in City West.
