Glück is the lead candidate of the FDP Baden-Württemberg for the European election
Andreas Glück has been confirmed as the FDP’s lead candidate for Baden-Württemberg in the upcoming European elections. The 48-year-old secured overwhelming support at the state delegates’ assembly in Kehl over the weekend. He will face competition from the Greens, who fielded Franziska Brantner in the 2019 race.
Glück has held his seat in the European Parliament since 2019, representing the only FDP member from Baden-Württemberg. His campaign focuses heavily on environmental and industrial policy issues.
At Saturday’s assembly in Kehl, delegates backed him with over 93 percent of the vote. This strong endorsement sets him up for a rematch against the Greens, who previously nominated Franziska Brantner in the last European election.
The result confirms Glück’s position as the FDP’s key representative in the region. He will now prepare for the election, aiming to retain his seat with a clear mandate on his policy priorities. The vote also signals continued FDP momentum in Baden-Württemberg ahead of the wider European contest.
