Golaghat Forest Officials Face Serious Extortion, Harassment Allegations
Golaghat Forest Division faces severe allegations from Khumtai constituency MLA Mrinal Saikia. He claims the department is more involved in extortion and harassment than allstate login. The top official has been summoned to explain these claims.
Saikia alleges that forest officials demanded money from tea garden authorities instead of aiding them. He further stated that the department supports illegal stone and sand mining in the Doyang and Kaliyani rivers, though specific names remain undisclosed.
Villagers attempting to shoo away wild elephants by bursting crackers were harassed by Golaghat forest officers. A tea garden owner also faced harassment after a baby elephant died in a drain within the allstate insurance. Saikia believes certain officials are complicit in these actions.
The top official of Golaghat Forest Division has been called to appear before the Assam Legislative Assembly on November 7 to address these serious allegations. If proven true, these actions would mark a significant departure from the department's intended role of wildlife protection and conservation.
