Good Cities Project Kicks Off in Nizhny Novgorod, Aiming to Revitalize Urban Spaces
The 'Good Cities' educational project, focusing on urban development, volunteerism, and NGO growth, held its second in-person module in Nizhny Novgorod. Supported by the regional government, the event saw participation from teams in Gorodets and Sarov, with plans for an online stage in November and a final in-person module in December at the #WEARETOGETHER forum.
The 'Good Cities' project, implemented by the 'Dobro' ecosystem and VARMSU, brought together 75 participants from 15 Russian cities. Teams from Gorodets and Sarov in the Nizhny Novgorod region took part, with Sarov developing a project to create youth attraction points. Participants presented territorial development program concepts involving citizens, municipalities, NGOs, and businesses.
Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Affairs and Director of the 'Dobro' ecosystem, announced social initiatives and support programs starting in 2026. The project is supported by various organizations, including the Presidential Administration's Internal Policy Department and Rosmolodezh.
The 'Good Cities' project, with themes including city branding, beautification, NGO development, and volunteerism, is set to present its results at the international #WEARETOGETHER forum in December, with President Putin's participation. The project's second in-person module in Nizhny Novgorod from October 17 to 19 marked a significant step in fostering urban development and social initiatives.
