Goslar’s migrant families’ network builds bridges through shared projects and support
A migrant families' network in Goslar is helping families with immigrant backgrounds settle into local life. The group aims to encourage their involvement in society through shared projects and support. Recently, members gathered for their second meeting to plan future steps and strengthen partnerships.
The meeting brought together representatives from various sectors. Attendees included officials from Landkreis Goslar, schools, counselling centres, the employment agency, police, and other local initiatives. Discussions focused on how to put new ideas into action effectively.
An idea workshop during the session produced suggestions for expanding the network and building fresh collaborations. The group also reviewed past projects, such as picture-book cinema screenings, reading groups, anti-racism workshops, and informational sessions. These activities were introduced over the last year to support families and promote integration.
The importance of teamwork and shared responsibility was highlighted throughout the event. Organisers stressed that working together remains key to helping families with migration backgrounds thrive in the region.
Upcoming events were also announced. The district offices will host ‘Children’s Health: Healthy Kids, Strong Teeth’ on November 24, followed by ‘Transition from School to Career’ on December 2 and ‘Pathways to Employment’ on December 3, 2025.
The network continues to grow, with new projects and events planned for the coming months. By involving schools, authorities, and community groups, the initiative aims to create more opportunities for migrant families. Future meetings will focus on turning these plans into reality.
