Grandmothers Combat Poverty with Burkina Faso Education Center
Ulla Fischer, a member of Grandmothers Against the Right (Eisenach), has launched a project aiming to combat poverty through education in Burkina Faso. The initiative, supported by the local community, seeks to address the root causes of forced migration.
The group, known for their civic engagement, raised funds at the Citizens’ Festival in Eisenach. They collected €400 through a donation booth and by selling fresh waffles and pastries. The funds will be used to construct a new adult education center in Burkina Faso.
Ulla Fischer, who has previous experience in educational projects in Burkina Faso, believes that education opens doors to a self-determined life in one's own homeland. The center will provide vocational training, helping adults secure stable, well-paying jobs.
Grandmothers Against the Right (Eisenach/Wartburgkreis) express their gratitude to the visitors for their dedication, creativity, and generosity. The raised funds will contribute to the construction of an adult education center in Burkina Faso, with the long-term goal of combating poverty and addressing the root causes of forced migration.
