Great Circus on Vernadsky Prospekt Gets Facelift: Mosgortrans to Oversee Renovation
The Great Circus on Vernadsky Prospekt in Moscow is set for a facelift. Mosgortrans has been appointed to oversee the redevelopment project, which includes reinforcing the building's structure and renovating key areas. The project is expected to be completed within three months.
The restoration will involve several key aspects. Mosgortrans will reinforce the building's load-bearing structures to ensure its stability. Additionally, the glazing will be replaced, and new equipment will be installed to enhance the circus's functionality. The auditorium, roof, and utility systems will also undergo renovations to improve the overall experience for visitors.
The project is part of a larger plan to revitalise the circus, which last saw major renovations in 2013-2015 at a cost of nearly 600 million rubles ($6.6 million). A budget of 35.5 million rubles ($390,000) has been allocated for designing the restoration project.
The restoration of the Great Circus on Vernadsky Prospekt is a significant step in its continued operation. Despite previous demolition plans, the circus will now undergo a transformation that will ensure its longevity. The new building in the Mnevniki Floodplain area will complement these efforts, providing a modern home for the Great Moscow Circus.
