Green Party Finalizes Candidate List for 2026 Weilheim City Council Election
The Green party in Weilheim has finalised its candidate list for the 2026 city council election. The list, initially met with an objection, was eventually accepted without further debate following the withdrawal of former Councilor Eckart Stüber. The party welcomes approximately 30 new members to its assembly.
The sole agenda point at the recent assembly was the nomination of candidates for the upcoming election. Luise Nowak, spokesperson of the local board, warmly greeted the new members. Martin Adler, spokesperson of the district board and election officer, presented the list of 30 candidates to the voters. The list, arranged in an alternating pattern of 15 women and 15 men, aims to maintain a balanced representation.
The Greens currently have two women and four men serving in the council. Despite an initial objection to voting on the entire list, it was rejected with a majority vote of 27 to 2. Candidate Manuel Neulinger, eager to shape the city with the voters, envisions Weilheim as an 'open, livable, and lively' party city.
The Green party's candidate list for the 2026 Weilheim city council election is now final. With a balanced gender representation and a focus on maintaining the city's livability, the party looks forward to the election. The list's acceptance follows the withdrawal of former Councilor Eckart Stüber and a subsequent vote.
