The robbery happened around 5:30 p.m. at a US bank inside a shopping centre on Schlossstraße. An unknown attacker entered the branch and confronted a 56-year-old employee. He brandished a firearm and demanded money, leaving the scene shortly after.
The staff member was not physically injured during the confrontation. Berlin's criminal police division, under Directorate 4 (South), has taken charge of the case. Authorities have not released further details about the suspect or the amount stolen.
While witness appeals for similar crimes have been issued in the past, no exact figures exist for bank robberies in Berlin this year. Clan-related offences have been reported, but specific data on heists remains unclear.
The investigation into the Steglitz robbery is ongoing. Police continue to gather evidence and seek information from the public. No arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident.
