Gütersloh Opens Three Mosques for a Day of Cultural Dialogue and Faith
Gütersloh welcomes visitors to three local mosques on 3 October, as part of the nationwide 'Day of Open Mosques'. The event, themed 'Faith as the Compass of Humanity', aims to foster understanding and unity among people of different religions and cultures.
The participating mosques in Gütersloh are Diyanet - Turkish-Islamic Cultural Association e.V., Islamic Center Gütersloh e.V., and Association for the Promotion of Integration and Education in Gütersloh e.V. All are invited to explore these places of worship, engage in discussions about ethics and responsibility, and learn about Muslim culture and beliefs. Guided tours will provide insights into prayer rituals, religious holidays, and cultural traditions. The local Muslim community, including the DITIB mosque community, along with interfaith and societal initiatives, have come together to promote this day of openness and dialogue.
On 3 October 2025, Gütersloh sets a sign of openness and unity, inviting everyone to explore the city's mosques and learn about Islam.
