Gütersloh’s Youth Parliament kicks off with 49 young voices ready for change
Gütersloh’s 13th Youth Parliament (JuPa) has officially begun, with 49 young people aged 12 to 18 gathering for their first watch. The group will debate key issues affecting youth in the city and pass their recommendations to the local council. New leaders were also chosen to guide the discussions in the coming months.
The Youth Parliament brings together representatives from secondary schools across Gütersloh. Each school selects three members and three alternates through elections. Their role is to voice concerns, propose solutions, and influence decisions that shape the city’s future.
The newly elected Youth Parliament will continue its work in the coming months, with regular meetings planned every six weeks. Their debates will directly inform Gütersloh’s policies, giving young residents a formal platform to drive change. The next session will focus on issues raised by the 49 members in their first gathering.
