Haacke to become head of sports committee office in the German Bundestag
Changes are coming to the German Bundestag’s sports committee and press office. Eva Haacke, a long-serving press officer, will take on a new role as head of the sports committee’s division from November 1st. Meanwhile, her current position will be temporarily filled by deputy spokesperson Claus Hinterleitner.
Eva Haacke has worked in the Bundestag’s press office since 2007. She served under three presidents: Norbert Lammert, Wolfgang Schäuble, and Bärbel Bas. In 2019, she became head of the press communication division.
Her move to the sports committee marks a shift in responsibilities halfway through the current legislative period. Dieter Stier (CDU/CSU) remains the deputy chairman of the Sportausschuss, as confirmed in the official membership overview from December 2025. Until a permanent replacement is named, Claus Hinterleitner will lead the press office in Haacke’s absence.
The transition sees Haacke bringing her experience to the sports committee’s division. Hinterleitner will oversee press operations in the interim. No further changes to the committee’s leadership have been announced.
