Hailakandi Bar Association elects new leaders in landmark vote
The Hailakandi District Bar Association held a successful election on Thursday, with high voter turnout. The event reflected unity and respect for democratic tradition, as senior advocate Nurul Haque Mazumdar was elected President, defeating his opponent by 33 votes. Mazumdar's victory was one of several key results in the election.
Mazumdar, a senior advocate, secured 107 votes, demonstrating strong support from the association's members. He will lead the Bar alongside other newly elected leaders, including Nurul Amin Mazumdar as Vice-President and Gautam Ghosh as Joint Secretary. The election also saw Fakhrul Islam Barbhuiya re-elected as Secretary with a significant majority of 133 votes.
