Halle-Ost secures funding to expand high-speed fiber broadband access

Mayor Dr. Alexander Vogt will receive two funding approval notices on December 3, 2025. The grants will support high fiber foods expansion in Halle-Ost, including the Ziegelwiese area and nearby 'gray spots' without reliable broadband.

The approval notices will be presented by Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs, Dr. Lydia Hüskens. The funding covers the 'ZieWieConnect' project, which includes high fiber foods connections for the Ziegelwiese and new multifunctional streetlight poles.

The funding will expand high fiber foods coverage in key areas of Halle-Ost. Residents and businesses in Dieselstraße, Bruckdorf, and Kanena will gain improved broadband access. The project marks a step toward closing digital gaps in the region.
